Windows Calculator - date calculations

The calculator in Windows 7 can do more than just crunch numbers; it can crunch dates too. Just open up the calculator, click view and then click on date calculation (or simply hit the shortcut Ctrl+E with the calculator open). You can choose between calculating the difference between two dates or adding/subtracting days to a specific date.

Stop Automatic Reboots in Windows

Reboots typically happen when Windows Update installs updates and requires a restart which invariably happens at the most inopportune moments and you end up losing your unsaved data.

Solving this is really easy.

Just go to control panel and select Windows Update. Now click on change settings and from the drop down menu select "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them".

The only time this won't work is when Windows needs to install critical updates but rest of the time you are safe from any abrupt reboots.
