Windows 7 shortcuts

Unknown Windows 7 shortcuts

There are a lot of shortcuts in Windows 7 that use the Windows key. For example, holding the Windows key and clicking + will bring up the magnifier. You can then use + and - to zoom in or out. Windows + T cycles through thumbnails of all open windows. Windows + Spacebar makes every window transparent. And Windows + Left or Windows + Right will make the active window fill up one half of the screen.

Stop Automatic Reboots in Windows

Reboots typically happen when Windows Update installs updates and requires a restart which invariably happens at the most inopportune moments and you end up losing your unsaved data.

Solving this is really easy.

Just go to control panel and select Windows Update. Now click on change settings and from the drop down menu select "Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them".

The only time this won't work is when Windows needs to install critical updates but rest of the time you are safe from any abrupt reboots.
