Hard drive capacity vs cost

Planning on buying a broadband connection for your home? If you are a medium/heavy user, you have no option but to buy an unlimited download plan. Limited plans may be cheaper, but if you exceed your free usage threshold, you'll start paying for every MB used. If your ISP has a 'fair usage policy' structure in place, choose a plan which offers reduced speed after a certain amount of data usage, and not the ones which are charged per MB of use.

For increased storage, you can buy more hard drives. Apart from laptop drives being more expensive than desktop drives for the same capacity, even internal and external hard drives vary in price. For example, you can get a 1TB 7200rpm internal drive from Seagate or Western Digital for under Rs 3.7k. A 1TB external drive with a lower 5400rpm from the same companies will be at least Rs 800 more. If you have a PC that can take an internal drive, you’ll be better off with that.
